The Central Bank issued into circulation a gold ¾ troy ounce commemorative coin dedicated to the 100-year anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan People’s Republic in 2018.
The set of coins was minted in ‘The Royal Mint’ of Great Britain.
The face of the coin depicts the sun – the symbol of freedom, the map of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a part from our national anthem, an eight-pointed star with a crescent, a design of the State Flag and doves released from a chained cage as the victory of our struggle for independence, while the back features the Coat of Arms with a star, flame, oaken branches, and spikes, graphic depictions of the crescent and the eight-pointed star, and ornaments widely used in the art of grating.
The commemorative coin is a legal tender in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan at its face value.
