Azerbaijan carried out one of the most significant events of the independence history – launched its first ever telecommunications satellite –“Azerspace 1” into orbit successfully on February 8, 2013. In this regard, the Central Bank issued silver commemorative coins into circulation.
The commemorative coins were minted at the “Royal Mint” of Great Britain.
The face of the coin depicts the image of the satellite, the back presents the national emblem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
