The Central Bank issued high caliber gold commemorative coins, dedicated to the 20th anniversary (1991-2011) of the restoration of state independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, into circulation in 2011.
The commemorative coins were minted at the “Austrian Mint” of Austria.
The face of the coin depicts a tomb symbolizing independence, the back presents the image of the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The release date of the coin ‘2011’, the period ‘1991-2011’ and the words ‘Independence of Azerbaijan’ are depicted around the image of the tomb. The words “The Republic of Azerbaijan” and the nominal of the coin are depicted around the emblem.
The commemorative coin is a legal tender in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
