Commemorative coin dedicated to the district of KHOJAVAND

In 2021 the Central Bank issued to circulation a silver commemorative coin dedicated to the district of Khojavand, liberated from the armenian occupation during the 44-day Patriotic War of 2020 under the leadership of Ilham Aliyev, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the weight 1 troy ounce and 5 AZN face value.
The coin was minted at ‘The Royal Mint’ of Great Britain on proof-based technology.
The face of the commemorative coin depicts the image of the Azykh cave, one of the oldest human settlements in the world and the historical pearl of Azerbaijan, and examples of primitive human parts found in the cave, the words ‘8 November’ victory history, the Khari Bulbul, that has become the symbol of victory of the Patriotic War, as well as the words ‘Khojavand’ and ‘Karabakh is Azerbaijan’ as the main design elements, while the back of the coin depicts the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Azerbaijan, 8-pointed stars, the words ‘the Republic of Azerbaijan’ and denomination of the coin.
The commemorative coin is a legal tender in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan at its face value.
