In 2016 the Central Bank of Azerbaijan issued into circulation a high caliber gold commemorative coin dedicated to one of the most significant events in the history of independence of Azerbaijan – the 20 year anniversary of the contract called ‘the Contract of the century’ for its exceptional importance.
The coins were minted at the “Royal Mint” of Great Britain.
The face of the coin depicts the portrait of the National Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, and oil derricks, while the back features the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
