Napkins have been used from the times of the ancient Roman Empire and prior to that in Ancient Greece. The first napkins were made of fabric. Napkin holders became popular in 1930 when the Scott Paper Company introduced the paper napkin. Iron napkin rings and napkin holders appeared in the 19th century with the development of mechanical production of napkins. However, such handcraft items were considered as the work of art and produced in limited quantities. The presented exquisite napkin holder also resembles a piece of art.
